The drive takes 60 to 75 minutes under normal traffic conditions via FL-528 East, known as the Beachline Expressway. The road is direct and well-signed, with the final exit placing you on A1A at the heart of Cocoa Beach.

Cocoa Beach is not a walking city in the urban sense but the beach strip itself is a pleasant and functional walking environment.

For a pure Cocoa Beach beach vacation staying within walking distance of the strip, you can manage without a car using Uber and Lyft. For visiting Port Canaveral, Kennedy Space Center, the Banana River, or Merritt Island wildlife areas, a car or rideshare is needed. If you are flying into Orlando, renting a car is the most practical approach for the drive to Cocoa Beach and any day trips.
