Every official public viewing location on the Space Coast โ from Titusville to Cocoa Beach. Addresses, parking, restrooms and the honest truth about each spot.
Every spot on this list is free. Every spot has a clear view. The best spots for the launch itself are in Titusville (closest to the pads) and Cocoa Beach (best beach experience). If you only have time for one: Jetty Park or the Cocoa Beach Pier. Check the live launch tracker before you leave โ windows shift and scrubs happen.
The Indian River separates Titusville from Merritt Island and the launch pads. These spots offer the closest public views of any of the 12 locations โ approximately 9-12 miles from Launch Complex 39A.
The most dedicated launch viewing spot on the Space Coast. Raised observation platform, rocket garden with launch vehicle replicas, and the best unobstructed view of the launch pads from the Titusville side. Arrives full โ get there 2+ hours before the window.
Waterfront park on the Indian River with facilities. Good direct view north toward the launch pads. Less crowded than Space View Park because it requires knowing where it is. The waterfront location makes it cooler on warm evenings.
Riverfront park in downtown Titusville. Facilities and parking make it accessible. The downtown setting means food and coffee are walkable before the launch window.
South Titusville park on US-1 with river access. Less crowded than the downtown parks. Good for those driving from Orlando on US-1 who want to stop without going into Titusville proper.
Further south on US-1. The distance from downtown means it stays less crowded even on major launch days. The view is comparable to the other Titusville riverfront parks.
The southernmost Titusville option. Close to the SR-528 causeway โ positioning it well for people who want to cross to the beach after the launch.
The causeway over the Banana River gives an open sky view with the launch pads visible to the north. Pull completely off the roadway โ do not stop on the shoulder or bridge deck. This spot is mid-causeway, which means you will be in traffic when everyone leaves simultaneously after the launch. Budget extra time for the drive out.
Further from the pads than Titusville but with far better amenities โ restaurants, bars, beach access, and parking infrastructure. The launch is slightly smaller on the horizon but the overall experience is better.
The closest public viewing point to the launch pads south of the NASA causeway. Entry fee per vehicle. Great facilities. The view is north directly over the inlet channel. Fills up 2-3 hours before major launches โ arrive early or accept the walk from street parking.
The social center of Cocoa Beach launch viewing. Restaurants, bars, and a natural gathering point. The pier extends over the Atlantic giving you an elevated view. After a launch the energy on the pier is excellent โ every bar fills up immediately.
Named after the first American in space, this park is the primary public beach facility in Cocoa Beach. Wide open beach with a clear northern view toward the pads. The parking lot is large. A solid choice for families wanting space to set up chairs and watch together.
Smaller and quieter than Alan Shepard. Half a mile south on A1A. Gets less traffic on launch days โ a good option if you prefer a less crowded viewing experience on the beach.
The northernmost Cocoa Beach park option โ positioning it slightly closer to the pads than the others. Has a nature trail through coastal scrub on the inland side. One of the most pleasant park settings in Cocoa Beach when you are not in a launch crowd.
